How to Care for Your NanoClear™ Anti-Fog Mask

NanoClear™ anti-fog coating is designed to help reduce fogging and provide a clearer snorkeling experience. With proper care, the coating is designed for up to 1,000 clear uses.

But like any performance coating, NanoClear™ is not permanent. How you clean, store, and handle your mask can affect how long the anti-fog performance lasts.

This guide explains how to care for your mask so you can get the best experience from it.

Long-Lasting, Not Permanent

NanoClear™ anti-fog coating is designed for long-lasting performance, but it is not a permanent anti-fog solution.

Over time, the coating can naturally wear with regular use. Saltwater, sand, sunscreen, oils, scratching, heat, and harsh cleaning can all affect the coating.

After the coating wears, the mask can still be used like a regular snorkel mask with standard anti-fog methods such as pre-soaking, rinsing, or anti-fog spray.

The goal is simple: care for the lens gently so the coating can last as long as possible.

Before First Use

Before your first swim, rinse the mask gently with clean fresh water.

Do not scrub the inside of the lens. The NanoClear™ coating is already applied during production, so there is no need to aggressively clean or pre-treat the lens before use.

Avoid using toothpaste, abrasive cleaners, rough cloths, or strong chemicals on the lens.

During Use

When using your mask, try to keep the inside of the lens clean.

Avoid touching the inner lens

Fingers can leave oil, sunscreen, or dirt on the lens surface. This can affect clarity and may reduce anti-fog performance.

Keep sand away from the lens

Sand can scratch the lens or coating. If sand gets on the mask, rinse it gently with clean water instead of wiping it.

Do not wipe the inside while dry

Dry wiping can damage the coating. If you need to clean the lens, rinse gently first.

After Every Swim

After snorkeling, always rinse your mask with fresh water.

Saltwater, chlorine, sand, and sunscreen can build up on the mask. Rinsing helps protect the lens, silicone, strap, and buckle areas.

Simple after-use steps:

1. Rinse with clean fresh water.

2. Shake off excess water gently.

3. Let the mask air dry in a shaded place.

4. Store it only after it is fully dry.

What Not to Do

To protect the NanoClear™ coating, avoid these common mistakes:

· Do not scrub the inside of the lens.

· Do not use rough towels or abrasive cloths.

· Do not use toothpaste on the coated lens.

· Do not use alcohol, bleach, or strong chemicals.

· Do not leave the mask in direct sun for long periods.

· Do not store it while wet in a sealed bag.

· Do not place heavy items on top of the mask.

· Do not let sand or sharp objects rub against the lens.

These habits can shorten the life of the coating and reduce lens clarity.

How to Store Your Mask

Proper storage helps protect the shape and clarity of your mask.

Store your mask in a clean, dry place. A protective case or gear bag is recommended, especially when traveling.

Avoid storing the mask near sharp items such as keys, shells, tools, or other gear that may scratch the lens.

For beach trips and travel, rinse and dry the mask before packing it away.

What If the Coating Starts to Wear?

Over time, you may notice the anti-fog performance becomes less effective. This is normal.

NanoClear™ is designed to be long-lasting, but not permanent.

When the coating naturally wears, the mask can still be used as a regular snorkel mask. You can use standard anti-fog methods if needed, such as:

· Pre-soaking the mask

· Rinsing before use

· Using anti-fog spray

· Following normal snorkel mask preparation methods

The mask remains usable even after the anti-fog coating becomes less effective.

Quick Care Checklist

Use this simple checklist after every trip:

· Rinse with fresh water

· Avoid touching the inner lens

· Do not scrub the coating

· Air dry in the shade

· Store in a clean protective case

· Keep away from heat, sand, and sharp objects

Better Care, Clearer Adventures

Your NanoClear™ mask is designed to make snorkeling easier, cleaner, and clearer. With gentle care, you can help protect the anti-fog coating and enjoy clearer underwater views for many swims.

Treat the lens carefully, store it properly, and enjoy the water with less prep and more confidence.

NanoClear™: long-lasting clarity, not permanent anti-fog.
